Players hit mid-game and need to know whether to craft gear before chasing another banner unit.
Where crafting happens
Use the Crafting NPC in the Upgrades zone (reported near the Awakening NPC). Gear costs Gold plus Story, Squadron, and Raid materials. Better gear needs later-chapter drops.
Six gear slots per unit
Each unit has Chest, Boots, Helmet, Necklace, Core, and Sword slots. Some awakening recipes require specific crafted pieces such as Hogyoku Orb or Sword of Resonance.
Set bonuses vs single pieces
Set bonuses matter when you can realistically equip multiple pieces on one keeper. Do not spread rare materials across temporary units just to trigger a partial set.
Crafting priority order
Craft for your confirmed carry or raid keeper first, then boss-pressure units, then support. Gear on a unit you will replace next week is usually wasted Gold and materials.
Reported gear set bonuses
Set bonuses are worth chasing only when multiple pieces fit the same keeper unit.
| Set | Pieces | Bonus | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hogyoku | 1 piece | -7.5% Cooldown | Core orb crafted from late Story acts |
| Pirate | 2 pieces | -5% CD, stacking damage buff | Marine Lobby gear set |
| Dragon Gi | 2 pieces | +5% Range, +5% Damage | GT City / Dragon-themed gear |
| Ninja | 2 pieces | Set bonus from Ninja Shoes, Headband, Hoodie | Ninja Village materials |

Gear Guide FAQ
When should I start crafting gear?
After you confirm a keeper unit that will stay through the next mode wall.
What is the best gear set?
It depends on role. Hogyoku helps cooldown-heavy units, while Dragon Gi and Pirate sets boost damage-oriented carries.
Does gear replace traits?
No. Traits and gear stack. Traits usually come first on keeper units, then gear once the route is stable.
